My goal in creating this seminar is to help you feel more maintenance-savvy, to empower you to take control of your maintenance, to participate meaningfully in maintenance decisions and troubleshooting, and generally to become the "owner-in-command" of your aircraft.

As an aircraft owner for 40 years, I know firsthand the frustration and sticker shock that owners often face when dealing with mechanical problems, replacement parts, or annual inspections. As a longtime tech rep for the American Bonanza Society, Cessna Pilots Association, and Cirrus Owners & Pilots Association, I've helped literally thousands of owners troubleshoot and fix the thorniest maintenance problems that their own local A&Ps have been unable to solve. As an A&P/IA mechanic myself, I understand how owners and their mechanics can best work together to get the job done while minimizing frustration and expense.

I've become convinced that most aircraft owners are too passive for their own good when dealing with maintenance issues. Too often, they defer blindly to the judgment of a mechanic without questioning or seeking a second opinion. When the invoice is twice what the owner expected and the problem still isn't fixed, the owner often feels powerless, victimized, and "over a barrel."

This seminar teaches you how to troubleshoot problems, what questions to ask before approving labor or parts replacement, when and where to seek an expert second opinion, and what to do in case of a disagreement with your A&P or shop. It also covers how to choose a shop or mechanic, how to cope with the skyrocketing cost of parts, how to deal with mechanical problems that occur away from home base, and much more..

In 17 hours of intense training, you will learn how to have a better-maintained aircraft while spending much less on maintenance. You'll take away dozens of invaluable tools and techniques for dealing with frustrating maintenance problems, and saving literally thousands of dollars on maintenance, year after year. Here's some of what we cover.
